We at Destination Africa have been in the travel industry for over 35 years, working with dedicated agents around the world to provide the best possible experiences for their clients.

It started with Duncan Muriuki in Kenya, and shortly thereafter, Scott Edkins started up with golf in South Africa. Rune Engstrøm, who has worked with both of us for many years, suggested that we establish the name Destination Africa in South Africa, leading to the creation of DestinationAfrica.travel. Desale Mitiku in Ethiopia has joined our team with his expertise on Ethiopia. A country that is a fantastic destination or add-on to any trip to Africa. Since the beginning, our focus has been on cooperation with dedicated agents around the world, and recently we have reached out to new partners in other countries in Eastern and Southern Africa. Others have approached us to be part of a winning team, and we are proud to say that we have the best people in South Africa, Kenya, and Ethiopia.

We work with local Destination Management Companies (DMCs) in these countries, but only partner with the best DMC in each country, making Destination Africa a one-stop shop for agents.

There are lots of exciting things happening on our agent portal in the months to come, and we are open to joint marketing ideas and participation in trade shows with agents around the world and suppliers in Africa. It’s important to remember that we are part of a B2B environment, where our clients are the agents around the world. We provide agents with everything they need to satisfy their clients, whether it’s a romantic honeymoon, a multi-generational family tour, a leisure group, or a MICE group. We always listen to what our clients say, recognizing that no two clients are the same, but they are all important.

To make it easier for agents to work with their clients, we create branded digital catalogues that agents can send straight to their clients.

All responses and requests go directly to the agent, not to us, so we don’t even know who the client is at this point. This protects the interests of the agent, as the client will believe that the agent created the catalogue themselves. We create these catalogues as samples, which can easily be converted into a specific itinerary for a particular client.
