Kenya Meets South Africa

A Shared Vision for African Travel.

Kenya met South Africa during the last week of March 2025, our team had the pleasure of participating in the Sarit Centre Holiday and Travel Expo in Nairobi, and what an incredible experience it was. The response and enthusiasm from Kenyan travel agents and travellers was nothing short of inspiring.

What stood out most was the remarkable interest in South Africa as a holiday destination—especially in Cape Town and Johannesburg. It was a powerful reminder of the untapped potential of intra-African travel.

South Africa offers tremendous value for Kenyan travellers. With its stunning natural beauty, vibrant cities, world-class food and wine, golf courses, shopping, and a relaxed, cosmopolitan lifestyle. It’s easy to see why South Africa continues to capture the hearts of East African travellers. Better yet, it’s affordable, easily accessible, and visa-free for Kenyans.

But this opportunity flows both ways.

Kenya, with its endless tropical beaches, rich cultural heritage, and world-renowned safari experiences, is an equally attractive destination for South Africans looking for something different—especially those seeking a mix of adventure and relaxation in a warm, welcoming environment.

Thanks to direct flights between Kenya and South Africa and the absence of visa requirements, it’s never been easier for Africans to explore the richness of the continent together.

For travellers with a bit more time, a stopover at Victoria Falls offers a magical addition to the journey—adding even more value and variety to a regional circuit.

At Destination Africa, our mission has always been to bridge the gap between African destinations and African travellers. We believe the future of travel lies not just in bringing visitors from overseas but in unlocking the potential within our own borders. What we witnessed at Sarit Centre is proof that this future is already taking shape.

Our Incredible team

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our incredible team who made our presence at the expo such a success—Chris, Ian, Judy, Duncan, and David. Your energy, professionalism, and passion were truly inspiring. And of course, none of it would have been possible without the solid support of our wider teams in Kenya and South Africa—thank you for always showing up.

We will follow up with similar shows in South Africa, telling South Africans about Magical Kenya.

Another powerful testament to what we can achieve when we work together.

Here’s to the continued rise of intra-African travel.
