Kruger National Park is the second-oldest in the world and one of Africa’s best-known wildlife sanctuaries. The Park boasts the most diverse wildlife and flora of any African park at 6 million acres. Along the park’s western border, 650 000 acres of private conservation land are included (no physical barrier) in a mega-park termed ‘Greater Kruger’ This private area is divided into individually maintained reserves, including the famous Sabi Sand Reserve, where your lodge is located. The open vehicles, ability to pursue large game off-road, night drives with spotlights to seek for nocturnal animals, and some of the greatest wildlife trackers on the continent combine for a spectacular safari.

Second in Africa is Johannesburg. Without George Harrison’s gold find, the city might not exist. Harrison staked the first reef claim, sold it for 10, and vanished. This lively metropolis is the core of the country’s economy and the world’s largest gold-mining region. From traditional’muti’ (medicine) shops to upscale boutiques in upmarket malls, theatres, museums, cultural villages, restaurants, and more, Johannesburg is a diversified cultural melting pot deserving of its epithet ‘iGoli’ or ‘City of Gold’

Malilangwe Trust was founded in 1994 with the largest single donor investment ever in Zimbabwe to buy, protect, and administer the wilderness region close to Gonarezhou National Park in southeastern Zimbabwe. Singita Pamushana Lodge is the ecotourism arm of this 130,000-acre reserve. Its goal is to foster the sustainability of the animals and greater ecology while allowing tourists to share the lodge’s magic. Malilangwe is uninhabited. The area has hundreds of baobab trees and 500 bird species, including numerous raptors. The rolling savannah is abundant of large game, and the dam below the lodge attracts wildlife.
