The Birthplace of Nelson Mandela

Destination Africa is a premier Destination Management Company (DMC) in South Africa, and we are renowned for our industry expertise and excellence. South Africa, at Africa’s southern tip, stands out for its cultural diversity, historical importance, and natural beauty. The various environments, plentiful wildlife, and cultural legacy are all reasons to travel to South Africa. Luxurious experiences may be found throughout the country’s nine provinces, each of which features a distinct collection of attractions and luxurious lodging options. Whether it’s a safari in Kruger National Park, a trip to the Cape Winelands, or an exploration of the historical sites of Johannesburg and Pretoria, South Africa offers premium travel options for clients who are looking for something special.

In 1994, Nelson Mandela was elected president, and the country got its first black rule in almost 350 years. We visit Robben Island where Mandela was imprisoned for almost 18 years. We get to hear the story of apartheid, of reconciliation and forgiveness, of the fight for freedom from Cristo Brand, Mandela’s jailer and friend! Millions still live in the large townships, and after a visit to the famous District 6 in the center of Cape Town, we head to Khayelitsha, the largest to see and feel life there.

The cable car to the top of Table Mountain is of course part of the program. On this flat mountain in the middle of the city, you can see the whole city, the Kapp point and far out into the wine regions. For a taste of the wildlife in Africa, there will also be time to the northeast of Cape Town where we can experience “The big 5”. We end our journey with a couple of days in charming Gordon’s Bay where we can enjoy beautiful beaches and summarize all the impressions – a taste of the history, culture, traditions and people.

Kruger National Park, Blyde River Canyon, and God’s Window are located in Mpumalanga, while Limpopo is home to the Waterberg Biosphere Reserve and Mapungubwe National Park. The Free State is known for Golden Gate Highlands National Park and its sandstone formations, and the Northern Cape is home to Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and Namaqualand flowers. North West offers the Sun City Resort and Pilanesberg National Park, as safari possibilities are broad and plentiful throughout the country. Kruger National Park is well-known for its Big Five game watching, whereas Pilanesberg National Park is widely accessible and has a diverse range of species. Addo Elephant National Park is famous for its elephants, while Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park features unique desert vistas.
