Take a dhow transfer to Mogundula Island; it’s not simply a dull ride; you’ll see lovely birds, enjoy pure swimming off the sandbank beach, and have great snorkelling. You will typically have the gorgeous island to yourself as our mobile camp is situated behind shady trees.
Set out from Mogundula to explore the Quirimbas Archipelago. Navigate through the clearest of blues, where exquisite corals demand to be investigated. You can find intriguing rural fishing settlements dotted around the shore as you approach the Ulumbwa river mouth.
You will enjoy an early morning cruise up the Ulumbwa estuary where you will view a variety of birds and mangroves that thrive in this area before arriving at turquoise clear waters and picturesque surroundings. The tour of this fishing community and a stop to visit Matemo Island’s southernmost point will take place in the afternoon.
You will explore Ibo’s 200-year-old ghost town and 16th Century forts, which provide for an intriguing voyage to a long-forgotten era, which is likely the Quirimba’s most appealing attraction.
