Discover The Maasai Mara

Explore Africa with the "Discover The Maasai Mara" Tour

10 Days

You will gain a better grasp of the various components of the larger Mara ecosystem as a result of this excursion. The Maasai Mara can be visited for months, but 10 days will offer you the full Maasai Mara experience, including time spent both inside and outside the reserve.

Breakfast and dinner included, along with some spectacular encounters with curious animals. The Paradise Plains and Musiara Swamp, made famous by the BBC’s Big Cat Diaries and Jonathan and Angie Scott, are being explored in the Maasai Mara. You’ll descend to the Mara River inside the Maasai Mara to seek for crossings before spending the afternoon looking for Big Cat activity. The Mara confluence is the best place inside the Mara to begin your Maasai Mara journey because it is not a popular destination for mass tourism.

Trip Highlights

Kicheche Mara Camp

Kicheche Mara Camp

You’ll enter the Mara North Conservancy, where Jonathan Scott filmed Leopard Gorge, which afterwards became well-known. Experience the Mara North and take night drives at Kicheche Mara Camp, which is in our opinion the greatest camp. As nocturnal creatures and cats are still active in the early morning hours, start your second day with a trip to observe what happened the night before.

Maasai Mara - Kenya

Olare Motorogi Conservancy

The Maasai Mara Reserve’s southernmost conservancy, Olare Orok, or Olare Motorogi Conservancy as it is presently known, is arguably the greatest. The area is in perfect condition; it is not too close to the western escarpment, which has large hotels and light pollution, but it is close enough to the Maasai Mara core area to provide year-round good wildlife watching.

Kenya

Naibosho

For a unique experience, Naibosho offers more woods than the majority of the other conservancies in the region. With larger mammal species like elephants and giraffes, there is also decent walking. Enjoy your first game drive of the afternoon and take a look around this eastern conservancy.

We strongly advise you to spend one night away from your lodge lodging fly-camping (in a temporary mobile tent) on the hilltop overlooking the Maasai Mara. We advise taking the two to three-hour walk with Roelof before spending the night at the fly-camp because Naibosho is a great walking guide. If you don’t like to walk, engage in regular game drives and other activities.
